Complementing Your Suit With Accessories

Wearing a suit is a great way to dress up for a formal event, and whether you are going to a meeting, going to work, or just heading out to an event, accessories are one thing that can set your suit apart from everyone else’s. So if you are looking for individuality, what should you consider when it comes to accessories? Here we’ve listed a few items that you might consider.

Tie
A tie is perhaps the ultimate accessory to any suit and it’s one way that you can really dress up or dress down your suit as need be. A tie can say a lot about a person, it’s a really good way to express your personality or dictate how formal or informal you want to be. It can also add a little bit of colours to what otherwise could be a very basic outfit.

Luggage
Whether it’s going to/from work or to/from a meeting, chances are you will have a number of things that you will need to take with you, and if this is the case then having a stylish, practical bag can be just what you need to carry these items in style. Neutral colours can make for the perfect accessory and high quality, stylish fabrics can add that little bit extra – but at the same time make sure that your bag fulfills its purpose and actually has space to carry all of the items that you need.

Cuff links
Cuff links can add that little bit extra to a traditional suit – in fact they can really take your suit up a notch, and they are also a way of adding a little bit of personality and significance to your outfit. Often cuff links can be handed down from generation to generation or given as a special gift, so adding cuff links to your outfit can not only bring it a little more upmarket – it can also really allow you to add a little bit of personality to your outfit.

Belts
A great belt will not only serve the practical purpose of keeping your suit in the right position – it can also make a real statement. Colour and style are important here – and you need to take into consideration the environment where your belt is going to be worn. Large, brash belt buckles probably don’t have a place among formal suits. Small, discreet buckles and neat belts can add a level of style and sophistication to your outfit.
A strong, sturdy belt will last you for many years to come, especially if it’s made with a high quality design and high quality materials, so this could be well worth your investment

Watch
A good watch can easily complement any suit and if you are looking to dress up your suit and add style and sophistication then a statement watch can really do this. Elegance and simplicity is key here – you don’t want your watch to detract too much from the outfit so sticking with relatively tame colours like golds and silvers could be a good move. Bright fluorescent colours probably won’t match your suit very well so it might be worth avoiding them where you can.

  3. There were so many choices to make such as: fabric selection, types of stockings, buttons, buckles, lace, braids and trims. These all needed to be chosen with great care to assure you were within the correct degree of male fashion. It is also interesting to note that it was not uncommon for man to wear corsets or padding (shoulders and calves being quite popular) as needed to improve his figure.
