The Story behind TOMS

In 2006, while traveling in Argentina, young entrepreneur Blake Mycoskie encountered children who were too poor to afford shoes. These children often developed injuries on their feet that often lead to serious

health problems. Mycoskie knew he wanted to help, but rather than start a charity, he created a profit business to help these children. With the help of a local shoemaker, Mycoskie struck out to merge activism and fashion in the form  of a local canvas shoe worn by farmers and gauchos alike, called the Alpargata. He called his creation TOMS meaning Tomorrow's Shoes and promised to give a pair of new shoes to a child in need for every pair that he sold. Today TOMS has given 2 million pairs of  new shoes to children around the world. So Nigerians buy an original pair of TOMS and put a new pair of shoe on a poor kid.
ONE FOR ONE.
